This item provides up to 5 sessions per calendar year for patients who have a chronic medical condition and complex care needs. In most cases there is a gap payment required.

Focussed Psychological Strategies – Mental Health Care Plans

Under the Better Access to Mental Health SchemeFocussed Psychological Strategies  2700, 2701, 2715 or 2717, 291, 104 through 109, 293 through 370, 110 through 133

Medical Practitioner, psychiatrist or paediatrician can refer patients with an assessed mental disorder for up to 10 individual  Focussed Psychological  sessions and up to 10 group therapy services per calendar year.

  • 80125, 80130, 80135 and 80140 for provision of FPS services by an occupational therapist;
  • 80126, 80136, 91172, 91173, 91185 and 91186 for provision of video conference and phone FPS services by an occupational therapist;

Assessment and Intervention for Children with autism, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) or disability

Consultant paediatrician, psychiatrist, physician, general practitioner for Up to 4 Occupational Therapy sessions for assessment (82010) and up to 20 early intervention treatment services (82025)

The age limitations are under 13 years for diagnosis services and under 15 years for treatment services.
